Classes with instructor Mary Hoholski start Monday, April 7, 2008.
Eight registered participants are needed to begin classes. Classes
are great for ALL beginners and start at 9 AM .
Monday - Cardio Circuit - Class begins with a gentle warm up,
Cardio Set, Bands, and another Cardio Set. Then working with
Weights and Balls for the final 15 minutes with a gentle cool down.
Wednesday - Step Class - This class is excellent for the beginner.
You may use tape on the floor until you get used to the stepping
patterns. Class begins with a gentle warm up, and step patterns
for 25 minutes. Then working with Weights and Balls for the final
15 minutes with a gentle cool down.
Friday - Low Impact - Class begins with a gentle warm up, and Low
Impact routines for 25 minutes. Then working with Weights and Balls
for the final 15 minutes with a gentle cool down.

Friday Night Basketball At The YMCA
Spring leagues now starting! Games will be played on Friday nights at
the YMCA.
- Men’s 3 on 3 league (ages 18-30)
- Men’s 30+ league ( ages 30 and up)
- Co-ed 3 on 3 league (ages 18-30)
Teams in each league should have 5-6 players on the rosters. Co-ed teams need at least 2 female players on the rosters. 10 game season starts March 21st, 2008 and will finish with a tournament on May 30th-31st, 2008. Fees are $120 per team. Sign-up deadline is March 14th, 2008. Call the Vermilion YMCA at 967-4208 for more information.
Vermilion Family YMCA Co-Ed Church Softball
Join churches from the Amherst and Vermilion areas for fun and
fellowship in this new softball league!
- 10 week season will start April 5th.
- Double elimination tournament at the end of the season.
- Rosters of 12 players (16 years old and older.)
- Teams must have at least 4 female players.

Vermilion YMCA Adult Basketball Sign-ups
Winter adult basketball leagues are now starting at the Vermilion Family YMCA. Games will be played on Friday nights at the Y.

All fitness classes (except Senior classes) are on 10-week sessions. Registration is required for class participation.

Seniors: Members will receive classes free, but non-member seniors must purchase the ten-week sesssion.
The YMCA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes as deemed necessary. A full refund will be given if a class does not begin due to lack of registrants.

ULTIMATE WORKOUT
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00 AM
Designed for the intermediate and advanced exerciser. This class offers a
non-to-low impact cardiovascular workout that combines weight training for maximum body sculpting results. Intermediate/Advanced level.
LOW IMPACT STRETCH & FLEXIBILITY
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 AM
This class is 90 minutes long. Class starts with a 5-10 minute warm-up, followed by low intensity aerobics while keeping one foot on the floor at all times. Participants will also include the use of physio-balls, stretch bands, and free-weights. Participants of the program should be able to do some floor exercises that target the legs, back, and abs. Class will end with a cool-down that consists of a series of slow stretches. Beginner/Intermediate level. Free with Senior Membership.
P.A.C.E. (People with Arthritis Can Exercise)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 AM
This program is specifically designed for people with rheumatic diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, etc. This class helps promote optimum joint flexibility, muscle strength, endurance, coordination, and cardiovascular conditioning, plus enhances self-image and self-esteem of the participants. Beginner level. Free with Senior Membership.
STEP COMBO
Cardio Step: Monday 6:00 PM
Step & Tone: Wednesday 6:00 PM
Step Interval: Saturday 8:30 AM
These 1-hour classes have a cardiovascular segment using the step bench for training routines to meet the needs of the intermediate and advanced step exerciser. It also has a segment of hand weight toning using stability ball, thera-bands, and floor work. The class concludes with stretching. All of these classes involve step, however, the focus is slightly different (cardio, toning, or interval exercises) depending on day of week. Intermediate/Advanced level.
YOGA
Tuesday, Thursday 6:00 PM
Designed for all ages and fitness levels. Hatha yoga combines postures with breathing techniques. This 1 hour class works on improving posture, balance, muscle strength, and flexibility. Yoga is the willful practice that leads to the union of mind, body, and spirit. Intermediate level.

EXERCISE LEVELS
Know your level and choose your classes wisely. Please feel free to talk with the instructor before or after class to assist with your exercise questions or concerns.
The BEGINNER level is for an individual who:
- has not exercised for more than a month's time.
- has never participated in a particular routine.
- is just beginning to exercise.
- is rehabilitating from an injury or illness that needs to begin exercise at a slow pace.
- is beginning a diet/exercise program.
The INTERMEDIATE level is for an individual who:
- participates in exercise on a regular basis, a minimum of 2 - 3 times per week.
- is participating in a diet program with the assistance of exercise to promote weight loss and has physician approval to increase exercise to an intermediate level.
- participates in an injury/illness rehabilitation program and has permission from his/her physician to increase exercise levels.
The ADVANCED level is for an individual who:
- is an athlete training for a specific sport, looking to reach advanced cardiovascular levels for the effects of training.
- likes vigorous exercise routines to heighten his/her exercise levels and results.
Anyone who has a health history with significant illnesses or injuries should be kept out of the advanced level. Those individuals who are participating concurrently with diet programs are prohibited from advanced exercises.
