Tai Chi

Tai Chi is an internal Chinese martial art known for being soft and slow. It has been known to help those with arthritis, balance problems, and those who want to get a low impact gentle aerobic workout. Tai chi is beneficial to one’s physical and mental health through the relaxing moves often referred to as meditation in motion. Sifu Stephanie Thompson of the Nei Jia Academy and of Lorain Community College is pleased to offer instruction in Yang Style Tai Chi to promote fitness, relaxation, and self defense. Loose fitting comfortable clothing and flat shoes are suggested along with a bottle of water.

An exercise class specifically designed for people with rheumatic diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, etc. This class promotes optimum joint flexibility, muscle strength, and mobility while also promoting weight loss.
SILVER SNEAKERS/ADULT FITNESS
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10-11 am

Have fun & move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

**The Child Watch Center will close 15 minutes early provided no children have signed in. Hours are subject to change due to need.
FREE CHILD WATCH for YMCA MEMBERS while you work out! The Vermilion Family YMCA provides Child Watch free of charge for our members for your child ages 18 months & up while you are in the YMCA facility. Your child will be engaged in active play during their time in Child Watch. We put safety first with a sign in and procedure practiced at all times. Non Y fee is $2 per child and $1 for each additional child.
